Boxing Day, December 26, is a holiday in the Christian calendar.

In Western tradition, it is also called St. Stephen's Day, because the feast of St. Stephen, which is considered the church's first martyr, is celebrated on this day.
Stephen was a deacon, and had been commissioned by the apostles to distribute food among the poor of the congregation.
