Ascension Day is a Christian moving holiday celebrated 39 days after the first day of Easter. In Norway, Ascension Day is a holiday that is often called just "Ascension of Christ. This day is not flag day in Norway.
The feast was probably introduced in the 4th century, when some Christian churches began to celebrate it as a separate feast.
